DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's soccer scored three goals in the opening half of play and cruised to an opening season shutout of the St. Mary's University (MN) Cardinals.

UD ended the night with 17 shots with 11 shots on goal as 27 Spartans saw action on the turf of Oyen Field on Wednesday. Eloi Niybizi and Joel Skrog-Johannson would each finish with three shots with one on goal. Lucas Von Braun, Draek Littler, and Gavin Wooldridge added two shots each in the victory. Christoffer Rastock earned the victory in the net for 80:45 minutes. He combined with Matt Marchiori for the shutout in the Spartans home opener.

Axel Aaman scored teh first goal at 9:17. Draek Littler punched one in off the assist of of Gavin Wooldridge at 32:28. Darren Gray scored the third goal of the half just prior to halftime at 41:37.

The Spartans play at Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, Sept. 4 at noon and at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.
