MONMOUTH, Ill. – The University of Dubuque men's soccer team was in action this afternoon as they competed against the Monmouth College Fighting Scots. Spartan goals were a theme in this matchup as the Spartans would get the scoring started with a 12
th minute goal by
Linus Scheidegger with the assist from
Gavin Wooldridge. Then
Gloire Luwara would answer with two more goals separated by only 41 seconds of each other to give the Spartans a 3-0 lead. The Spartans would add another goal just before halftime by
Alessandro Corazzina, assisted by
Logan Holevas to give them the 4-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Spartans were not done being on the attack as the Spartans would add a quick goal in the 46
th minute by
Emil Windahl to bring the lead to 5-0 Spartans. The Spartans would finish the rest of the second half by adding three more goals scored by Glorie Luwara,
Draek Littler, and
Alessandro Corazzina to take the victory 8-0.
The Spartans finished the game with 34 shots and 10 corner kicks.
Christoffer Rastock had a quiet night in goal with 0 saves to earn the win.
The Spartans return home for a matchup with UW-Platteville on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 5:00 p.m.
