GRINNELL, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's soccer team is beginning to dislike overtime in the early part of the season. For the second consecutive game, the Spartans found themselves walking away from a well played match with an overtime loss by a 0-1 final score.
The Spartans finished the night with 14 shots with 11 being on goal.
Lucas Von Braun led YD with three shots in 94 minutes of play.
Darren Gray, Jakob Youngstrom, and
Gavin Wooldridge all ended with two shots in the loss. UD had one late corner kick with under two minutes in regulation, but were unable to convert the scoring opportunity. Just over three minutes in overtime, the shot for the Pioneers found the Spartans goal ending the night in defeat.
Christoffer Rastock took the loss in goal and made three saves. The Spartans (2-2-1 overall) will travel to face the Monmouth College Fighting Scots on Sat., Sept. 18 at 3:00 p.m.
