Box Score DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball team kicked off their season home opener on Wednesday night in Stoltz Sports Center. The Spartans hosted the Edgewood College Eagles in a non-conference contest and would lose a heart breaking battle 2-3 by set scores of 28-26, 15-25, 24-26, 25-15, 15-7.
Darbey Hawtrey led UD with 15 kills and
Emma Powell finished with 11 kills.
Ashlee Adler ended the night with four block solos. Three Spartans finished with double digit digs. Powell led with 14 and
Katie Wright and Hawtrey both collected 13 digs.
The Spartans travel this weekend to compete in the Grinnell College/Central College Invitational on Friday, Sept. 3 and Saturday, Sept. 4. UD will host the River City Classic on Sept. 17-18.
