DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque would split the doubleheader on Saturday, losing the seven inning contest 2-4, but bouncing back and dominating the nine inning game 10-1. In game one, the Spartans leadoff,
Kyle Radi had the hot bat and finished the game going 3-4 with an RBI. UD would score two runs off eight hits and left 10 runners on base in the loss. In game two, the Spartans scored 10 runs off 13 hits and left five runners on base.
Radi would finish with a 2-3 outing and an RBI while scoring twice.
Max Snowden would improve his hitting percentage after going 3-4 with three RBI's in the win. He would be credited with an in the park homerun after a hard hit bounced past the defender and rolled to the outfield fence and he sprinted past second and third bases for the score, it was part of the five run fourth inning.
Edward Rosas improved to 3-0 after collecting the win in the second game after tossing seven innings and allowing just one run and striking out two Dutch batters.
Aiden Sullivan threw the final two innings and didn't allow a hit after facing six batters.
The Spartans sit in fourth place of the league standings with an 8-8 A-R-C mark and are just a game out of third place. UD will face league leader and #23-ranked Coe College next weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
