DECORAH, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's soccer team fell victim to a lone first half goal by the Luther Norse to fall to 4-3-1 on the spring season.

UD withstood Luther's initial attack on Tuesday night, as the Norse would fire three shots before the game was seven minutes old. The Spartans flipped the attack over the next 12 minutes, being the team to deliver two shots and one corner kick but no luck finding the back of the net. Luther's Maggie Haller would break the scoreless game with a 34th minute goal into the top-right corner of the net that would prove to be the game-winner.

The Spartans were able to keep it within one score and made one last push with two shots and a corner kick in an 80 second span late in the second half. A 79th minute shot from Brooke Brodzinski would drill the crossbar and an 80th minute shot from Brodzinksi was blocked to keep the Spartans off the scoreboard for a 1-0 loss.

Victoria Roethler faced 13 shots in the 90 minutes, stopping the only other shot that came out net.

The Spartans will host Buena Vista on Saturday, April 17th at 3:30 for Senior Day. Senior Day ceremonies will take place after the game.
