MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The University of Dubuque volleyball team continued their season on the road Friday night and would fall to the Cornell College Rams 1-3. The Spartans lost the first set 12-25, held on for the victory in set two 25-18 before the host Rams took the match after winning sets three (25-16) and four (25-19).

Emma Powell led with 12 kills, Juliie May finished with nine and
Darby Hawtrey with eight. UD struggled offensively and ended with a .086 hitting percentage.
Kate Messino had 16 assists and
Abby Pospisil with 12 assists.The Spartans earned 78 digs with
Mary Kate Wille compiling 22. Wille, Powell, May, and
Katie Wright would each serve up an ace in the game.
Shauna McAleer had one solo block and a team high four assisted blocks.
UD dropped to 0-3 overall, (0-2 in in American Rivers Conference) will play Tuesday, March 2 at Wartburg College (2-1 overall, 2-0 in American Rivers Conference) at 8 p.m. (NOTICE date and time change, originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 3).
The Spartans return home on March 6 vs. Nebraska Wesleyan University at 2 p.m.
