DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque found a tough opponent on Saturday in the friendly confines of Stoltz Sports Center and Jon Davison Court and battled for a 65-53 win. The Spartans fought for the loose balls and would score 24 points off the Dutch turnovers. UD also led in second chance points 10-4 and led by as much as 16 points with two minutes to go.
Tabria Thomas led all scorers with 25 points while
Allison Bailey would sink two from beyond the three point arc to finish with 14 points.
Karsen Kershner grabbed nine defensive boards en route to 12 total rebounds for the game. UD would out rebound the Dutch 33-31.
The Spartans made 24-64 attempts from the field (37.5%), 5-25 from the three point area (20%), and 12-17 at the free throw line (70.6%).
UD will host UW-Stout on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. before returning to A-R-C action on the road against the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairiewolves on Saturday, Dec. 11. UD will host Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, Dec. 18 before taking a short Christmas Holiday break.
