DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's tennis team hosted non-conference opponent the Saint Ambrose University Fighting Bees on a chilly Saturday morning in the Key City. At #1 singles freshman Alyssa Stevenson would once again battle into a tie break in the first set before losing the match 7-5, 6-2. Lauren Colon lost the opening set 6-2 at #3 singles, but kept the match in touch after fighting back in the second set and losing 6-4.

The Fighting Bees would sweep the doubles winning at #1 by a score of 8-0, at #2 doubles 8-2, and at #3 doubles 8-2.

The Spartans will be on the road next weekend when they travel to Storm Lake, Iowa on Friday, Oct. 9 to face the Buena Vista University Beavers at 4 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 10, the Spartans will continue their road action when they journey to Lincoln, Neb. to play the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves at 2 p.m.
