Sam Young joined the Spartans as a graduate assistant and will be coaching the defensive backs. Young is a 2026 graduate from the University of Dubuque with a major in wellness and exercise science.

The Rockford, Ill. native played four years for the Spartans as a corner back and is working on his master's in sport management.
