Keanon Cooper joined UD in 2024 as special teams coordinator and will coach the defensive backs.
In 2022,he was the defensive coordinator at Luther College for a season. Prior to Luther, he was an assistant coach at Augsburg University (Minn.) from 2018-22, where he served as defensive coordinator (2019), recruiting coordinator (2020-2022), video coordinator and also coached defensive backs
He has also coached at University of Minnesota (2016-18), Hamline University (2015-16), and at DeLaSalle High School, Minneapolis, Minn. (2014-15)
While playing at the University of Minnesota, he was a a three-year starter at linebacker and earned Academic All Big-10 honors three times.
He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Minnesota with bachelor of science in sport management. He earned his masters of education at the University of Minnesota - applied kinesiology, sports management in 2017.
The native of Dallas, Texas lives in Dubuque with his wife and two sons.
