McCombs was named assistant director of sports information in August 2022. Prior to 2022, McCombs was a sports information student assistant for UD from 2017-2020. He then went on to become the graduate assistant for the University Relations department at UD for one year, before transitioning to the first ever UD graduate assistant in sports information.
In his first two seasons in the full-time roll, McCombs has assisted in the promotion of 25 intercollegiate sports at the University of Dubuque. He is involved with the creation of game programs, writing game recaps, website management, implementing statistics, updating record books, and nominating student-athletes for various weekly and yearly awards.Â
In his two full years at UD, McCombs has promoted one National Champion, four Academic All-Americans, 13 conference players of the year, along with numerous conference champions and NCAA All-Americans.
The Jesup, Iowa native earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Marketing & Management in 2020 as well as a Master in Management - Sport Management graduate degree in 2022, both from the University of Dubuque.Â
