Zach Smith joined the University of Dubuque men's soccer coaching staff in August 2025.
After winning an undefeated IHSA state championship for Naperville North High School and the 2018 USYS National Championship for the Galaxy SC, Smith attended NCAA Dl Bellarmine University as a four-year player for the Knights. As both a winger and outside back, Smith amassed minutes against top sides such as the University of Kentucky, Central Arkansas, Lipscomb, and Florida Gulf Coast, and appeared in ASUN Conference tournament play. He was also a two-time ASUN Conference honor roll recipient.
In between his college seasons, Zach was a 3-year starting outside back for semi-pro side DeKalb County United Soccer Club, a member of the Midwest Premier League. Smith would go on the become the Business Development Manager for the club in 2024.
Smith graduated from Bellarmine University with a major in Sports Administration and minors in Communications, Psychology, and Esports. He is now pursuing his Master of Business Administration from the University of Dubuque.
