Scott Lennon

Scott Lennon joined the University of Dubuque on August 8, 2022 as men's head soccer coach. Previously, Lennon worked as a member of Clarke University's women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach since January 2022.

"Scott impressed me with his dedication to the holistic development of student-athletes, and his commitment to the foundation of the teaching and learning that happens daily on our campus," stated Vice President of student Engagement and Intercollegiate Athletics Nelson Edmonds. "We are excited for him to lead our students and to continue the winning tradition which has been established within our soccer program."

Lennon was an assistant with the Coe College Kohawks men's soccer team from 2020-22. Prior to his time with Coe, Lennon was a graduate assistant at Mount Mercy from 2018 to 2020 where he would eventually take over as the interim head coach for the Mustangs' women's program.

The Spartans have recently won back-to-back American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Championships. UD would go 6-1-1 in the abbreviated spring 2021 season to claim the American Rivers Conference Championship. The UD coaching staff would earn American Rivers Conference Staff of the Year, United Soccer Coaches DIII North Region Staff of the Year, and United Soccer Coaches DIII Men's National Staff of the Year. In the fall of 2021, the Spartans guided a team which finished the conference season undefeated, a perfect 8-0 in league play and once again earning staff of the year for UD.

Prior to his time coaching, Lennon was a standout player at Ashford (NAIA), whose team reached the NAIA National Tournament three-straight years, including a trip to the round of 16 in 2012 and a trip to the semifinals in 2013.

Lennon has been active at youth levels including working directly with individuals, as a U14/U15 girls coach, and as a high school head coach at Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids in 2018.

Lennon resides in Dubuque with his wife Olivia and their daughter Tillie.
