Matt Marchiori

Matt Marchiori begins his first season as the men’s soccer graduate assistant coach for the 2025 campaign after an accomplished playing career with the Spartans.

A four-year goalkeeper for the University of Dubuque, Marchiori served as a two-year captain and helped lead the program to an undefeated 8-0 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) season in 2021. He was a three-time A-R-C All-Academic selection (2022, 2023, 2024) and earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors in 2024. He earned A-R-C Honorable Mention in 2022 and was named the Spartans’ Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 and 2024.

Marchiori’s name is etched throughout the program’s record books, ranking tied for 4th in career wins (18), 5th in career saves (151), 3rd in career shutouts (13), tied for 4th in single-season shutouts with 5 (2022), tied for 5th in single-season shutouts with 4 (2024), and 4th in career minutes in goal (4,288:38).

In addition to his collegiate playing career, Marchiori has gained valuable coaching experience at multiple levels. During the spring of 2025, he was the Assistant Varsity Women’s Soccer Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach at Dubuque Senior High School. In the summer of 2025, he served as a First Team Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach for DeKalb County United in the Midwest Premier League. Looking ahead, Marchiori will begin his first season as Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach at Hempstead High School in the spring of 2026.

An Arlington Heights, Illinois native, Marchiori graduated from the University of Dubuque with a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Marketing and Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Management with a concentration in Sport Management.
