Kyle Avaloy joined the Spartans Staff in 2019 and will be entering his 3rd season as the Defensive Line Coach and Director of Travel Operations.

Under his coaching guidance, has helped the Spartan Defense to 25 sack season as well held opponents to 138 yards rushing a game. Assisted 2nd team All-Conference player Marshawn Crowder to 7 sack season in 2019. Currently on track to become the All-time Sack leader in UD history, Crowder is on pace to surpass the Career record of 17 sacks sitting at a total of 15 career sacks going into the 2021 Season.

Three-year starter at Illinois State University and played in 30 games at left guard with multiple playoff appearances at the Division I level, including an FCS National Championship appearance in 2014. During his time as a Redbird, he was part of school history winning back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference Championship in 2014 and 2015. Selected as a Second team All-Conference Player in the Missouri Valley Football Conference as well 3rd team All American selection, attend Camps with Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears through 2017.

Avaloy has an extensive background for working within the community while attending Illinois State and was selected as a nominee for the Allstate Good Works Team. This is a select group of student-athletes who balance academics and athletics while remaining committed to helping others and bettering their communities. To meet the criteria set forth by Allstate and the AFCA, each player must be actively involved with a charitable organization or service group while maintaining a strong academic standing.

Earned his bachelor’s degree in 2016 from the Illinois State University in recreation management with an emphasis in sports management. Avaloy resides in Dubuque and will finish his master’s degree in sports administration in the fall of 2021.
