University of Dubuque

Jesse Palafox enters his second season as a graduate assistant at the University of Dubuque. He joined the Spartans after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at Bemidji State University, working primarily with pitchers.   

The Spartans finished the 2022 season with a 21-18 record. UD finished third in the conference in ERA with a 4.72, and first in the conference with fewest walks with 113 over 339 innings. Senior pitchers Ed Rosas and Derek Hardin earned All-American Rivers Conference honors, Hardin also earned All-Region 9 Team by D3 Baseball.   

Palafox started his collegiate ball at City College of San Francisco in 2015, where he earned All-Coast Golden Gate Conference honors as a relief pitcher during his sophomore year. Then Palafox transferred to NCAA Division II, Bemidji State who is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Palafox played from 2018-2019 for Bemidji State graduating with a degree in Sport Managment, before joining the coaching staff in 2020.
