STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The University of Dubuque men's soccer team traveled to UW-Stevens Point on Friday to face the Pointers. In a physical matchup, the Spartans were defeated 2-0 in their first road contest of the season.
The Spartans got off to a strong start and had good opportunities in the opening minutes of the game. The Pointers were able to score goals in the 21st and 42nd minutes to lead by two at the break. After the break, the Spartans were able to generate plenty of plays on the ball, with their best chances coming in the final twenty minutes, but were unable to find the back of the net tonight.
In his first collegiate game for the Spartans, goalkeeper
Tyler Jerkins played all 90 minutes and made two saves.
Andre Elinoff led the Spartans with three shots.
