DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's tennis hosted the first round of the 2026 American Rivers Conference Women's Team Tournament on Tuesday in one of the most pleasant days if the spring. The #4 seeded Spartans lost to the #5 seeded Central College Dutch by a 4-0 final.
UD's
Molly Jex/Adiana Benavente won the #1 doubles set 6-3.
Amelia Court/
Maddie Brosnahan lost #3 doubles 6-0. It came down to the #2 doubles team of
Jayda Floyd/
Sarah Wilde for the doubles point in the match. UD led early in the #2 doubles, but would fall 7-5.
The Spartans lost #4, #5, and #6 singles to terminate the match with Central collecting the deciding fourth point with #1, #2, and #3 singles in play. The Spartans were leading two of three unfinished sets.
Central will advance to face the #1 seeded Luther College Norse on Thursday, April 23 at 4:00 p.m.
