DUBUQUE, Iowa - Aidan Elfering from the University of Dubuque baseball team was named to the D3baseball.com All-Region IX Second Team as a utility on Tuesday morning.
Elfering played both first base and a starting pitcher for the Spartans this season. On the mound, Elfering made 11 appearances on the mound with 10 starts. In 70 innings pitched he had an ERA of 4.50 and finished the year with 86 strikeouts compared to only five walks. At the plate, Elfering had a batting average of .356 with 48 total hits, nine doubles, nine homeruns, and had 32 RBI's.
Elfering finishes his career with the Spartans with back-to-back D3baseball.com All-Region IX honors after being on the third team last season.
The 2025 season marks the 13th season that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with more than 1,000 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to D3baseball.com staff and contributors from which three teams in each region were determined. For each of the ten regions, there is a regional player of the year (a batter), a pitcher of the year, a rookie of the year (must be a freshman) and a coach of the year.
