CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced the 2025 A-R-C Baseball All-Conference team on Wednesday afternoon. Starting pitcher
Aidan Elfering and utility
Jake Cekander were named to the first team, while
Charlie Jaeger was named to the second team and
Daniel Maller earned honorable mention.
Elfering (Bird Island, Minn. / BOLD) pitched in seven conference games this season, starting in six of them. In 48.0 innings pitched, Elfering had an ERA of 3.19 and had a staggering 62 strikeouts to only five walks. He also pitched two complete nine inning games where he had double digit strikeouts against both Nebraska Wesleyan and Buena Vista, both who were in the conference tournament championship series. Along with pitching, Elfering also had a batting average of .375, an OPS of 1.064, and had five homeruns in 22 conference games played. Elfering is now a back-to-back all-conference performer (second team - 2024) and is earning his first first team selection of his career.
Cekander (Chula Vista, Calif. / East Lake) played all 24 conference games this season, starting 23 games with a batting average of .316 and scored a team-high 21 runs in conference play. He had seven extra base hits with six doubles and a homerun and was able to drive in 12 runs. Cekander has now earned three consecutive all-conference honors (second team - 2023 & 2024) with this year being his first first team selection.
Jaeger (Dubuque, Iowa / Dubuque Wahlert) made seven conference appearances this season on the mound with six starts. He finished his campaign with a 4.08 ERA in 39.2 innings pitched where he allowed just 40 hits and recorded 52 strikeouts. Jaeger had three conference starts with double-digit strikeout games, including a game-high of 13 against Simpson. Jaeger is a two-time all-conference selection (2024 - honorable mention) in his two years with the Spartans.
Maller (St. Charles, Ill. / St. Francis College Prep) played and started all but one conference game in center field this season for the Spartans. Maller batted .301 in 93 plate appearances, recording 28 hits. Maller's seven extra base hits (four doubles, three triples) were a team-high in conference play. Maller has been selected as all-conference honorable mention in back-to-back seasons for the Spartans.
The University of Dubuque baseball team finished their season 19-20 overall and 10-14 in conference play.
