CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced the first ever A-R-C Women's Wrestling All-Conference awards on Thursday afternoon.
Alex Hofrichter was named A-R-C Most Valuable Performer, while
Dennis Hall was named A-R-C Coach of the Year.
Shea Reisel and
Mattie Papenthien were named A-R-C All-Conference.
The 29-member team is composed of the top-three A-R-C place-winners at the 2025 A-R-C Championship that took place on January 25 at Loras College. The wrestler or wrestlers who finished the highest at the NCWWC Championship are deemed American Rivers Conference Most Valuable Performer(s), while Rookie and Coach of the Year are voted on by the league's head coaches.Â
Hofrichter (Antigo, Wis. / Antigo) was named A-R-C Most Valuable Performer after being the highest A-R-C finisher at the NCWWC National Championships. Hofrichter also picked up two tech falls to win the 160lbs weight class at the A-R-C Championships. At 117lbs, Reisel (Somonauk, Ill. / Somonauk) was named A-R-C All-Conference after winning the weight class in convincing fashion with a fall and four tech falls. Papenthien (Black Earth, Wis. / Middleton) finished third place at 138lbs, going 2-2 with a fall to earn A-R-C All-Conference honors. Both Horichter and Reisel were also NCAA All-Americans in their respective weight classes.
Hall was named the first ever A-R-C Women's Wrestling Coach of the Year after leading the Spartans to a 2-2 dual record and was the only coach to have an NCAA All-American (2) from the American Rivers Conference.Â
