DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis team hosted the Lawrence University Vikings in a non-conference dual meet on Saturday in the warm confines of the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center. The Spartans won by a 6-1 final to improve to 7-6 overall.
UD won 2-3 of the doubles matches to take the one point. The #2 doubles team of
Jake Wallrichs/
Ryan Kiddle on 6-1 and #3 doubles squad of
Andrew Bollis/
Tony Zuccaro won 6-3.Â
In singles play,
Gavin Murrie won at #1 singles 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 in the tie-break.
Jake Wallrichs won #3 singles 4-6, 6-2, 12-10,
Ryan Kiddle at #4 singles won 6-2, 6-2,
Andrew Bollis won #5 singles 6-1, 6-4, and
Tony Zuccaro won #6 singles 6-3, 6-1.
UD will take a couple of weeks off before beginning American Rivers Conference play when they travel to Waverly, Iowa to play the Wartburg College Knights on Sunday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m.
