CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) released its weekly conference athletes of the week on Monday afternoon. University of Dubuque men's wrestler Justin Matson was named men's wrestler of the week by the league. 

Eighth ranked Matson (Hinckley, Minn. / Hinckley-Finlayson) made quick work of both opponents this week at the NWU Duals with a pair of falls early in the first period. Matson recorded a 33 second fall over Donovan Mann of Nebraska Wesleyan University and then a 47 second fall over Darvin Fowler of Westminster. The junior combined to pin both of his opponents in 1:20 of match time. 

Matson earned his first career conference men's wrestler of the week award on Monday.

Matson and the UD men's wrestling team will wrestle at home in the UD Sokol Showcase against Schriener University at 10:00 a.m. followed by Saint John's University at 11:30 a.m.
