Box Score WHEATON, Ill. - The University of Dubuque women's basketball were led in scoring by a trio of Spartans in a 43-54 road loss to the Wheaton College Thunder on Tuesday night. UD ended the contest with three Spartans finishing in double-digit scoring.
Felicity Figlinski led UD's offense with 16 points after sinking 6-8 shots from the field.
Grace Brumley added 11 points and
Lilly Craig had 10 points.
UD led after the first quarter 13-11 and trailed at the half by four points 24-27. Wheaton extended their lead after three periods 33-38. The Spartans were 16-53 from the field and made 7-21 three point attempts. UD matched the hosts 34 rebounds, the Spartans grabbed 10 offensive boards and 24 defensive.
Lilly Craig led the team with eight rebounds. The Spartans journeyed to the free throw line just seven times and sank four in the loss. UD's defense held the Thunder to 3-16 from beyond the arc (18%). The difference in the game was at the free throw line where Wheaton sank 13-17 attempts.
The Spartans (2-4 overall, 0-0 in A-R-C) enjoy a short break for the Thanksgiving Holiday before returning home to open the American Rivers Conference season against Loras College (3-2 overall, 0-0 in A-R-C) on Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. on Jon Davison Court in Stoltz Sports Center. The Duhawks edged out Wisconsin Lutheran College at home 63-60 on Tuesday.
