Box Score WAUKESHA, Wis. – The University of Dubuque men's soccer team was back in action on Tuesday as they hit the road to take on the Carroll University Pioneers. The Spartans were stride for stride with Pioneers throughout the night, but the Pioneers were able to score twice as the Spartans fall 2-0.
The Spartans were able to get off more shot attempts than the Pioneers with 13 attempts and was also able to get ten corner kick set piece chances, but were unable to convert. Senior forward,
Gavin Wooldridge led the Spartans with three total shot attempts. The duo of
Lukas Sandanger and
Mario Meier each had two shot attempts.
Matt Marchiori ended his night in goal with two saves. Despite getting more scoring looks than the Pioneers, the home team was able to find the back of the net twice defeating the Spartans by two goals.
The Spartans now fall to 3-4-1 heading into their first conference game of the season.
