INDIANOLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque lost a pair of games on Saturday to the Simpson College Storm by scores of 1-6 and 3-9.

In game one, UD scored one run off five hits and committed an error while the Storm scored six runs off five hits and committed two errors. The Spartans left five runners on base and the Storm stranded eight. Kaitlyn Powell led with two hits in three at bats. She grabbed the line double as teammate Katie Hayes homered in the fourth to left field.

Ciaran Rigby took the loss after four innings and allowing three earned runs. Paige Manning came in for relief and tossed two innings and allowed three earned runs.

In the second game, UD scored three runs off four hits and made three errors as the Storm scored nine runs off 10 hits and also committed three errors. Audrey Morris led the Spartans offense after going 2-4 and scoring two runs. Chloe Hild had a double to right field in the 5th inning and grabbed two RBI's.

Ally Gullette threw 5.1 innings in the the loss and allowed eight earned runs and struck out two. Manning came in for relief for .2 innings and gave up one hit.

The Spartans begin a busy home schedule when they host the Luther College Norse on Tuesday, April 9 in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 11 the Spartans continue when the UW-Platteville Pioneers make the trip in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. Central College makes the trek to Dubuque on Saturday, April 13 in a doubleheader with first pitch slated for 1:00 p.m. before ending the home swing against the UW-La Crosse on Monday, April 15 with a 2:00 p.m. start for the doubleheader.
