WATERLOO, Iowa - The University of Dubuque men's tennis were forced to play at a neutral site for their final match of the season on Senior Day after rain in Dubuque on Friday. The Spartans have graduation activities this week and were unable to move the match indoors to the Chlapaty Recreation and Wellness Center and played the match at The Black Hawk Indoor Tennis Club in Waterloo. The Spartans lost the match 7-2 to the Buena Vista University Beavers.

UD lost all three doubles matches, but garnered a pair of singles wins. Pedwar Castillo won at #1 singles 6-0, 6-2 and the Spartans lone senior, Dawson Freese captured the Senior Day victory at #5 singles by a 6-4, 6-2 final. Freese finished the 2023-24 season with a record of 7-7 in singles and 7-9 in doubles play.

The Spartans ended their season with an overall record of 4-12 and a A-R-C mark of 1-7. The American Rivers Conference Team Tournament begins on Tuesday, April 30.
