CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The University of Dubuque baseball team led early 2-0 and held a 2-1 lead through six innings before the Kohawks tagged a grandslam home run to left field for four runs and the lead 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh. UD was held scoreless in the final two innings in a 5-2 road loss.

Shae Buskohl started and tossed six complete innings allowing one earned run after six hits. Aiden Sullivan came in for relief and threw the final two innings allowed just one hit and struck out three and took the loss on the mound.

The Spartans scored two runs off 10 hits and committed one error in the bottom of the seventh. The Kohawks scored five runs off seven hits and played errorless. Right fielder Micah O'Neal was the lone Spartans with multiple hits after going 2-3 at the plate. Luke Burgos grabbed a double and an RBI and teammate Daniel Maller doubled to left field in the top of the sixth.

UD will continue American Rivers Conference play this weekend when they host Nebraska Wesleyan University on Dan W. Runkle Field on Friday, April 19 at 3:00 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20 on Senior Day beginning at 1:00 p.m.
