Box Score DE PERE, Wis. – The University of Dubuque men's hockey team was back in action as they took on No. 5/5 St. Norbert College on the back end of the doubleheader with the Green Knights. St. Norbert would ultimately net five goals on their way to a 5-0 victory.
The Spartans offensive attack had 14 total shots on the evening as
Thomas Gazich led the Spartans with three shots. Three Spartans had two shots each as
Parker James,
Nikita Borodayenko, and Alexsey Zielinski all had opportunities to net a goal. The Spartans were 29-57 on faceoffs with a winning percentage of 45.8%.
Nikita Borodayenko was 7/9 on faceoff wins on the night.
On defense there were 11 blocked shots on the night by the Spartans, as
Brandon Rossetti led the team with four blocked shots, followed by Alexsey Zielinski with two blocks. Freshman goalie
Ryan Piros played all 60 minutes and recorded a career-high 49 saves.
