PELLA, Iowa - After a one day delay in the start time of the University of Dubuque women's basketball game against the Central College Dutch, the Spartans were able to squeak out a close 53-52 win as 
Tabria Thomas led the way with 18 points. 
The Spartans held a five point lead at halftime against the Dutch (29-24) before the Dutch outscored the Spartans 9-15 in the third quarter to go to the final quarter up 38-39. In the fourth quarter the Spartans found themselves trailing 48-52 with 3:17 remaining in the game. The Spartans defense would not allow the Dutch to score again down the stretch. The Spartans final two baskets came with a 
Megan Teal layup with 2:51 left and then a massive three pointer by 
Isabella Tierney with 2:01 left to put the Spartans up one. Tierney was held scoreless prior to making the game winning basket. 
Thomas finished with a game-high 18 points on 8-14 shooting in 32 minutes of action. A trio of Spartans recorded six rebounds as Thomas, Teal, and 
Morgan Hawkins were great on the glass. 
The Spartans move to 10-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
