LINCOLN, Neb. - The University of Dubuque baseball team collected another American Rivers Conference victory on Friday with a 3-0 win over the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairiewolves to open their three game series. The Spartans held the hosts to just two hits after scoring three runs off 11 hits in the victory.
NWU collected a hit in the bottom of the first inning and earned their second in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Aiden Sullivan earned the two hit win after striking out five in six complete innings.
Anthony Scanlon pitched the final three innings, never allowed a hit or a walk and fanned two batters to grab a save.Â
Colin Husko led with four hits in four at bats and had one stolen base.
Jake Cekander was 3-4 with a run scored and teammate
Brandon Watkins scored the games only RBI. The Spartans left eight runners on base and would caught stealing three times.
The Spartans will continue the series on Saturday, April Fool's Day with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
