INDIANOLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball team picked up their first conference road victory of the season on Saturday in a duel with the Storm of Simpson College.
Tabria Thomas led the Spartans in scoring to help the Spartans to a 78-63 victory.
In 29 minutes for the Spartans, Thomas scored 26 points on 8-11 shooting from the field, nine rebounds that also included yet another perfect performance at the free throw line (9-9). Thomas has now made a staggering 28 straight free throws dating back to a week ago against Edgewood College.
Felicity Figlinski scored 14 points and made all five attempts from the field, including four three pointers.
Morgan Hawkins was crashing the glass snagging 11 rebounds to lead the Spartans.
The Spartans shot nearly 50% from the field at 28-60 while shooting 80% from the field in the final quarter. The Spartans were also able to win the rebound battle against the Storm (44-31). The bench for the blue and white played a pivotal role as well, winning the bench points by 17 points.
The Spartans move to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
