DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Spartans grabbed their first lead in the game tonight three minutes into the game, but only held the lead for 16 seconds as Aurora University scored the final four goals in the game to defeat the Spartans 1-4.

Connor Nelson was able to give the Spartans a 1-0 advantage three minutes into the game. The one goal lead would quickly changed to a 1-1 tie as Aurora responded within 16 seconds. Aurora was then able to add another goal four minutes later to lead by a goal through the end of the first period. The second period would be quiet with no goals, but Aurora would score twice in the third with the last goal coming on an empty net by the Spartans.
Nelson led the Spartans with three shots on goal and
Charles Levis was the other Spartan with multiple shots on goal with two. The Spartans were 26-63 on face offs and the most successful in that category was
Thomas Gazich going 6-10 on face offs.
