Anderson Competes at 2022 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - University of Dubuque's lone qualifier Zaric Anderson started the 2022 Division III Wrestling Championships on Friday morning in a pigtail match to make the tournament. He was unseeded and faced off against Nick Barnhart of Messiah University where he collected a tight 4-3 victory.

He would advance to be placed against the #6 seeded Nolan Hertel of UW-La Crosse in the championship round one. Anderson was held scoreless in a 0-4 loss. The loss sent him into the consolation round one against Trent Furman of New York University. He would trail 1-6 before making a third period rally which fell short as time expired in the match by a final 5-6. He was looking for a tilt in the final seconds, but was unable to secure any back points in the loss.
