DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's basketball season ended on Tuesday night in the American Rivers Conference Tournament Quarterfinals in a tough home loss to a Luther Norse team they swept during the season. The Spartans lost 46-53 in their third match-up and second game in Dubuque in just four days.
The deep ball was not the Spartans friend, UD ended the night without any points from the outside (0-10 in three point attempts). The Spartans would make 15-55 shot attempts from the field (27.3%) and sink 16-21 free throw attempts.UD trailed in rebounding 36-45.
Karsen Kershner was the lone Spartan in double digit scoring with a team high 14 points, four rebounds and six blocks. She finished the season with 84 blocks, third best in school history.
Miah Smith had eight points and nine rebounds. The Spartans scoring output was hampered by foul trouble in the final three quarters of play. UD's bench was out scored 19-8 in the loss.
The Spartans finished 15-11 overall and 9-7 in the A-R-C (4th place). All-Conference team will be announced by the American Rivers Conference office on Wednesday, March
