INDIANOLA, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's team would hold the lead for most of the opening half of action on Saturday, but would enter the halftime locker room trailing to #6-ranked Simpson College Storm 36-39. The Spartans would re-take the lead midway through the third quarter on a three pointer by Tabria Thomas at 5:59 to lead 43-42. The game would remain tight with the host Storm holding a 51-49 edge to end the third period. Turnovers proved costly to start the final period and the Storm would extend the lead to 14 when the game ended in favor of the Storm 79-65.

Thomas led the Spartans with 18 points and teammate Miah Smith would add 12 points and five rebounds. UD made 22-50 attempts from the field (44%) and sank 6-11 from the three point area (54.5%), and made 15-23 free throw attempts. UD committed 26 turnovers in the loss as the Storm converted them into 28 points.

The Spartans played 11 in the game and would compile 11 points from the bench while the Storm's bench finished with 40 points. UD had plenty of positives in the game, earlier this season the Spartans lost to the Storm in Dubuque by a 59-97 margin.

UD will play at Loras on Wednesday, Feb. 16 with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The Spartans finish their regular season at home on Saturday, Feb. 19 when they play host to the Luther College Norse on Senior Day at 2 p.m.
