Ferguson Sweeps Shot Put and Weight Throw at Cornell College Hilltop Open

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's track and field team competed in Mount Vernon today with a few throwers in the shot put and the weight throw events. Caroline Ferguson captured two titles by winning the shot put and the weight throw to lead the Spartans.

The senior sits at #4 in the indoor qualifying rankings in the shot and tossed her best of the season with a mark of 13.61m/44'-08.00". In the weight throw she moved into #5 in the nation with a throw of 17.03m/55'-10.50". Kaitlyn Wilder would finish with a mark of 13.05m/42'-09.75" to take third place which would be her best mark on the year, and currently ranked 13th in the country. She leads teammate Ferguson in the weight throw and currently ranks #2 in the nation with a weight throw of 17.96m/58'-11.25" from the Spartans first meet of the season.
