DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Spartans men's tennis team was looking for their first win in American Rivers Conference play on Wednesday afternoon. The chilly, windy afternoon was not ideal conditions for the tennis teams, but it was the Loras College Duhawks who would capture the win 9-0.

Josh Husemann and Brady McIntyre lost #1 doubles 2-8, Stefan Zrnic and Zach Norman lost #2 doubles 2-8, and the #3 doubles of Maxwell Flaten and Kody Hampton lost 0-8.

Zach Norman fought through the cold afternoon and jumped out to an early lead 6-0 at #4 singles. He lost the second set in a thriller 4-6 and the third set tie break fell in favor of Loras 10-4. Stefan Zrnic at #1 singles lost 1-6, 2-6. #2 singles Josh Husemann lost 2-6, 1-6. Brady McIntyre lost #3 singles 0-6, and battled back in the second set before losing 4-6. Maxwell Flaten lost #5 singles 1-6, 0-6 and #6 singles Kody Hampton lost 0-6, 1-6.

The Spartans (2-13 overall) travel to face the Augustana College Vikings on Sunday, April 18 at 9 a.m.
