DUBUQUE, Iowa - Rainy conditions forced the University of Dubuque tennis team indoors in Chlapaty Recreation and Fitness Center on Saturday in a non-conference match-up with Wisconsin Luther College. UD would hold court in a tight match falling in the Spartans favor by a slim 6-3 margin.
UD jumped out to an early 2-1 start after capturing #1 and #2 doubles.
Josh Husemann and
Devon Gerber won #1 doubles by an 8-2 margin.
Stefan Zrnic and partner
Brady McIntyre won the #2 doubles 8-3.
In singles play,
Stefan Zrnic won 6-0, 6-1 and captured #1 singles,Â
Josh Husemann won #2 singles 6-2, 6-1,
Devon Gerber won #3 singles 6-1, 6-4, and
Brady McIntyre won #4 singles in a battle for the first set 6-4 and 6-1.
UD will continue their home season on Wednesday, March 31 at 3 p.m. vs. UW-La Crosse on Frank Farber Courts.
