DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Dubuque women's track and field team captured the 2021 UD Battle of the Bluff - Dubuque Championships with 75 points on Saturday. The Spartans claimed seven championships en route to the team title.
The Spartans women's team defeated two-time defending outdoor national champions with strong performances from the distance crew, jumpers, and throws. The Spartans tallied seven event wins and broke two school records in the process. Freshmen
Aaliyah Collier eclipsed the pentathlon record in day one and returned to win the open high jump on day two.
Emma Seipel broke her own school record winning the long jump and currently set the top mark in the nation in the event.
The University of Dubuque men's and women's teams combined to win their 5th consecutive UD Battle of the Bluff. The Spartans scored a combine 142 points to edge out Loras 139 points.Â
