Hawkins & McDonald Named A-R-C Women's Basketball All-Conference

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) announced the 2025 A-R-C Women's Basketball All-Conference team on Tuesday afternoon. Morgan Hawkins and Samantha McDonald of the University of Dubuque women's basketball team were named to the second team by the league's head coaches. 

Hawkins (Dubuque, Iowa / Dubuque Hempstead) is finishing off her career with her highest A-R-C postseason award with second-team honors after averaging 9.2 PPG and 7.1 RPG while adding 44 assists and 22 steals in 16 conference games this season. Hawkins was eighth in the league in total rebounding, collecting 106 rebounds. She was 13th in the league in both assists per game and steals per game. Hawkins averaged just under three assists a game at 2.9 APG and recorded 1.5 steals per game. Hawkins is earning her second postseason career accolade after receiving honorable mention honors in her sophomore season (2022-23). 

McDonald (Dubuque, Iowa / Dubuque Senior) is being named A-R-C All-Conference for the first time in her career as a sophomore, finishing the year with the 14th most points per game in the A-R-C at 12.1 PPG. Her 16 total blocks were the sixth-highest total in the conference, while her 25 total steals ranked ninth. McDonald played in all but one conference game this season. 

The Spartans ended their season in the first round of the A-R-C Tournament, losing 69-53 to the Luther College Norse.
