Borodaenko, Mitchell Named NCHA Stars of the Week

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced their 3 Stars of the Week for the previous week on Tuesday morning. Nikita Borodaenko and Dazza Mitchell both received honors for their performances in the UW-Superior Showdown.

Borodaenko had a record-breaking game on Friday against #13 UW-Superior, tallying a goal and three assists. His four points during the game set the single-game program record. He scored again on Saturday as well. Borodaenko finished with two goals, three assists, four shots on goal, and ten face-off wins. After the tournament, Borodaenko was named UW-Superior Showdown MVP.

Mitchell was phenomenal during the tournament, stopped 53 of 55 shots on goal across two games. Allowing just two goals, his performance allowed the offense to run away with two decisive victories over the Yellowjackets and Vikings. Mitchell was also named to the All-Tournament team by participating coaches.

The Spartans will return to NCHA play this Friday with a road series against Concordia-Wisconsin. The Falcons (3-5-0) are coming off splits with (RV) MSOE and Lake Forest in their last two series.
